FAQ's
What is the average wait time to see a doctor accepting new patients at WalkInVirtualClinics?
The vast majority of our clients can be seen the same day or the next day, without waiting in a crowded, filthy waiting room.
Is this appointment service really free?
All patients living in Kelowna can see one of our doctors taking new patients for free as long as they have eligible, NON-EXPIRED coverage under British Columbia’s Medical Services plan. Additional charges may apply for services not covered by BC MSP.
Will I need an in-person follow up?
Many acute medical issues can be diagnosed and treated online through telehealth. If your family doctor needs to assess something that cannot be done via telemedicine, they will provide you with a lab work requisition to have blood drawn or to perform an x-ray, for example. Your family doctor may refer you to a specialist outside Kelowna if no doctor in Kelowna provides the right type of medical service.
Are all your doctors accepting new patients?
Patient rosters are managed by our doctors individually. Ask your doctor if they’re accepting new patients during your consultation. If not, you may be referred to another doctor at WalkInVirtualClinics or elsewhere.
